So, second semester of third year is about to begin. Today I got my white coat, marking the day when my learning experience changes from theory and lecture work to clinical practice.
For the past month I've been working at Colac and Bacchus Marsh veterinary clinics, and I think I have come quite far in just four weeks. I also think I'll be starting up a blog about my veterinary experiences soon, I just have to work out how I'm going to pop up my previous diary entries up without flooding the place.
So here is another art dump of the stuff I did last semester. It's mostly digital work for/from uni.

Chrysocaledor
First up, some collab work that I did with my classmate ubercaledor (Blaine).

May 2008 (Ink) Classic...
Blaine did the woman, I did the dragon. If I remember correctly it was an extremely boring (more than usual) lecture about grass. I think it sums up our different styles and preferences well, but it all flows together nicely too. Really happy with the composition for a "pass me back and forth" sort of deal.
I was in the process of colouring this but have yet to finish it.

May 2008 (Ink and Photoshop) Something random
I had my laptop in class for this one. All the lineart is Blaine's. I stole the pic, took a photo and coloured it. I love light blue and light yellow together, it's so serene.
Jeremy leaned over and said, "Omy god, she made your art really girly!"
I giggled and edited it some more...

May 2008 (Ink and Photoshop) Albeitera ad
This probably makes more sense if I tell you that Blaine and I are on the Albeitera team. Albeitera is our uni's yearbook and we've been coming up with some creative ads... Lol.
I love the colour and effects on this one too which is why I've posted both of them.
Albeitera
On the subject of Albeitera, have some more ads.

April 2008 (Canon Ixus 650, Photoshop) Albeitera ads
The first photo is one of my best photos. I love the feeling it gives. "When two worlds meet..."
The second I think captures student life perfectly.

I have yet to work out the art of advertising, straight lines and boxes appear to be the only thing I can do so far. I'm working on it though.
Smallies
So I'm also on the Smallies team, a special interest group (club/society) for Vet students. Smallies is dedicated to small animals - cats, dogs, birds etc.

April 2008 (Ink, Copics) Black, silver and emerald
Smallies runs an annual cocktail night and the theme this year was 'gems of wisdom' and the colours 'black, silver and emerald'. It was a really great night and everything went smoothly. The place was just transformed. Anyway, I came up with this rooster (lol get it?) and he ended up being the mascot for the event. I was going for the painterly, traditional media effect which I think worked pretty well.

The tickets.

April 2008 (Ink, Photoshop) Smallies logo revamp
I was bored once and had this on my mind. It is a more advanced version of the traditional Smallies logo (see above).

A grayscale one which I think is easier to read.
I think that's enough for tonight, there is a small amount of stuff for MIXED PRACTICE which is our mock vet show.
That's is pretty much it for first semester, I never really got a chance to do a lot of art and I'm not sure how much I will get done this semester. We shall see.
There is also some stuff I did while on work experience that will appear soon.
